Scope and Contents of the Materials
This collection contains several items pertaining to the life and career of S. Clyde Weaver, founder of S. Clyde Weaver Inc. Other advertising cards and programs detail evangelist meetings and services, but do not include Weaver as a speaker. Other papers include loose sheets of notes made by Weaver on Bible verses and the addresses of other individuals. Business concerning the Church of the Brethren’s daily operations and membership is included. A few pieces of correspondence include a greeting card from the Young Family and a political speech. Four notebooks are part of the collection, with three belonging to Weaver and one belonging to Elam Weaver. Within the notebooks are notes and records of the sermons and business at various Church of the Brethren congregations. Two editions of The Cokesbury Marriage Manual from 1933 and 1945 have been annotated by Weaver. Several ceramic artifacts are included with the collection: two blue spatterware bowls, two blue spatterware plates, and two white mugs with a floral design.
