Henry Horst was born on December 14, 1859, to Henry and Anna Bucher Horst in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. In the 1889 census, Horst was employed working in a mill. He married Mary Long in 1882, with whom he had five children. For much of his life, Horst worked at and ran Horst’s Feed Mill. By the 1900 census, Horst was listed as a farmer, and by 1910 he was working as both a farmer and a miller. In the 1920 census, Horst was listed as a farmer. He was a member of the Midway Church of the Brethren. Horst passed away in October 1926 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
Mary Long Horst was born on February 23, 1865, to Amos and Veronica Snavely Long in Annville, Pennsylvania. In the 1880 census, at fifteen years old, she was employed as a servant. She married Henry Horst in 1882, with whom she had five children. Horst was a member of the Midway Church of the Brethren. She passed away in June 1940 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
