The Victor Remedies Company based in Frederick, Maryland produced Victor Liver Syrup, a patent medicine. The company was owned by Dr. Peter Fahrney (1840-1905), an 1867 graduate of the Philadelphia University of Medicine and Surgery, and a prominent member of the German Baptist Brethren. He was the son of Jacob Fahrney (1798-1848) and grandson of Peter Fahrney (1767-1837), both of whom were known for practicing medicine in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
